Director & License Marriage and Family Therapist
Hello, name is Jovanna Borquez, (she, her, ella), and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Director of Healing Sol Counseling. I received my Master of Science in Counseling Psychology at Mount Saint Mary’s University and completed my Bachelor of Arts in Child Development at California State University, Los Angeles.
As a psychotherapist my goal is to provide empathy and a safe space throughout your journey of self- empowerment and discovery. I am a huge believer in the idea that we all posses the knowledge to self- heal in order to solve our problems, though sometimes we may need a helping professional to find the key to unlocking that knowledge. I hope to create an atmosphere where you can reflect on your experiences, process, and assist in identifying beliefs of self or the world that contribute to maladaptive coping. I am here to build a trusting relationship with you and begin your journey to your most secure self.
My therapeutic approach involves active listening, is empathic, and judgement free. I strive to provide a safe space where clients can express themselves and feel supported. My areas of expertise include anxiety, depression, Trauma including childhood and intergenerational , self-esteem, and grief and loss.
Treatment Modalities:
Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR)
Brainspotting Trained

License Marriage and Family Therapist
Hi, I am Denise Marquez, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist at Healing Sol Counseling. I am a first-generation daughter of Mexican immigrants, raised in Los Angeles, California and in Zacatecas, Mexico. Soy de aqui y de alla; continuously working on thriving in between.
I received my Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from Mount Saint Mary’s University and my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a Minor in Women’s Studies from California State University, Dominguez Hills.
